Exciting news!
Hayward CLC was selected to participate in this year's Paint the Plow competition! Our CLC director, Ms. Sage worked with CLC kids during their recesses and after school creating their masterpiece. If you have not seen their to see our completed plow parked near the exit of our front circle drive, you can check it out here! In addition, photo with the design reference (they absolutely nailed it!) is posted here as well.
You can also see their plow on display with others during the 15th Annual Paint the Plow event on Saturday, October 19th at the Levitt. Attendees can vote for their favorite plow and the winning plow(s) will get to be in the Parade of Lights on Friday, November 29th.

We hope to see you there!

We are classroom teachers, interventionists, education assistants, specials teachers, administration, and more. We are so much more because above all else we are a team.
Everyone brings gifts and strengths to the table, and with those things we build a team that constantly grows in positive ways.
Without each and every member in this building, we couldn't be what we are: a powerful team that has the power to make a difference in the lives of students every single day.
Thank you for letting us teach your children.

Our Jefferson Marching Cavaliers taking the field in competition tonight. Our own 5th grade band director at Hayward, Mr. Rygg, works with the JHS Marching Band and loves to see Hayward students join the band when they reach 9th grade.

It was easy to have a good morning at Hayward thanks to the Sonia Sotomayor PTO's generosity! ☕♥️

A great way to help out in the community!

Join us for some fun as we help Jefferson High celebrate their homecoming next week!

A healthy school year leads to a world of learning!

Hello Hayward Friends and Families!
We are flying through September and it won't be long until October arrives.
No matter how hot & humid or frigid & snowy it may be throughout the school year, you will see these 4 ladies out front every morning, working to keep our students (and themselves) safe during that crazy part of the day known as "The Morning Drop Off".
Some things to remember:
-We ask that you make RIGHT HAND TURNS ONLY to avoid crossing traffic and causing delays waiting for traffic to clear.
-Northbound traffic on Valley View is frequently stopped to allow cars to exit the circle drive, you MUST exit to the right, even when you feel you traffic is light. Consistency keeps everyone safe.
-DO pull over to the curb to allow them to safely exit to the nearest sidewalk
-DO use our 2 crossing guards to halt traffic so you and /or your student can cross safely
-DO be patient and plan ahead, some mornings have heavier drop off traffic and it will take longer. Consider dropping off your student at the playground and have them walk to the front of the school.
Three of these four staff often must stand in the street, in the way of traffic, to keep your children safe. Please remember their safety is just as important as our student safety is and be mindful of them.

Library is more than just books. Last week, our kindergarten friends learned about what architects do and then created their own buildings.

"Report, Don't Repost." Parents, students, and the community are asked to take 3 minutes to hear an important message from Superintendent Jane Stavem and Police Chief Jon Thum. School safety is everyone's responsibility!

Each morning, our fourth grade friends take turns helping raise the flag in front of our building. They learn the correct ways to handle the flag, how to work together, and take great pride in performing this duty daily for our school.
