The Lincoln JROTC was busy this Labor Day weekend! This past Friday, they helped at the food giveaway at the Fairgrounds. On Monday, they put up flags at the USS South Dakota Memorial at Sherman Park in honor of Labor Day. Great job, Cadets!

Today, the City of Sioux Falls and Sioux Area Metro pulled up at Roosevelt High School to explain the public transit "Kids Ride Free Initiative." As the city works to increase ridership and build future transit users, children can ride SAM buses with a School ID/Freedom Pass.

Let's Tackle Hunger before the President's Bowl! Scheel's is hosting a food drive competition from Sept. 1st-8th. Each SF high school will have a donation bin for dry goods for the week. The winning school will receive a $5,000 donation and be announced at halftime. Go Pats!
A couple of fun activities tonight if you are looking to watch the Pats in action:
Girls tennis: Lincoln (3-1) vs. O'Gorman (6-0) @ Kuehn Park 4:00 PM
JV football: Jefferson vs. Lincoln on the new turf at LHS! 4:15 PM
School drop-offs and pick-ups can be messy! Take your time, stay alert, and obey the rules of the road. A safe and orderly process makes the day start and end on a positive note for both students and parents!

A number of our athletic teams (Girls and Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis, Volleyball, Boys Golf) have already begun their seasons and are off to great starts! Tonight, our football team kicks off for their first game of the season against Roosevelt. See you there!
Students were welcomed back to school this morning by a wonderful performance by our LHS Drum Line!

We are extremely excited to see all of our returning and incoming Patriots tomorrow for the first official school day! Students - please follow this schedule tomorrow. Can't wait to see you all, Go Pats!
The countdown is ON! We are so excited to welcome students back for another great school year! Staff have been busily preparing their classrooms, brushing up on instructional skills, and revisiting the always-important-topic of customer service! See you soon!

A new app for parents of bus-eligible students is coming soon! The FREE Stopfinder app allows parents/guardians/daycare providers to see pick-up and drop-off times, the location of the bus, and other features in a secure app. More information will be coming soon, including an invitation to set up your child's account in Stopfinder. If you are the primary household of a bus-eligible student, please check your email for more information.

What better way to start August than some "inspired" learning? SFSD staff members are sharpening their skills to help your student(s) achieve!

Keep your students fueled to learn! SFSD is no longer able to offer free meals to all students. Now is a great time to add money to their My School Bucks account. Or, for families with qualifying income, it is important to fill out the Free/Reduced Meal application!
Log on to the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus to apply! If you have questions or need help filling out the application please call 605-367-6180. We are happy to help!
Please note: if your student does not have a free/reduced lunch application on file, you will be charged full price for breakfast and lunch starting the first day of school. Thank you!

Students/Families who need assistance with purchasing the necessary school supplies for a successful school year may consider attending Project SOS. The first day of classes for SFSD is Thursday, August 25, 2022.

We have a BIG announcement to share at tonight's School Board Meeting! The meeting starts at 5:30 pm and the announcement will come during the Good News portion of the meeting. Join us either in-person at the Instructional Planning Center (201 E. 38th Street) or join us online at: https://www.youtube.com/user/SiouxFallsSchools to hear about a new partnership we couldn't be more excited about!
And let's just say...you'll want to amp up your volume to 11 when you tune in! 🤘

You are invited to the 2022 LHS Improv Show, Friday, May 20th at 7pm in the Little Theater!
A Night at the Improv is a loosely based on the UK and American show Whose Line is it Anyway? The show is a series of skits and games where the actors have to perform and act out scenes without any rehearsal. The skits come from ideas generated by the audience and the actors do not know ahead of time what they will need to do. We have a cast of 12 kiddos who are ready to play. All seats are $5.

School Info 5.13.22
• Classes in-session and on-time today

• Final day May 25, 2022
Congratulations go out to our very own Laurie Sterrett and Charnelle Wooledge as they celebrate 25 years in the Sioux Falls School District. Lincoln is lucky to have you, ladies!

Parent/guardian feedback is important to SFSD! We just launched a 7-question survey - which takes 5 minutes or less - to help guide the next steps toward becoming the BEST school district in the nation!
Check your email or paste this URL in your browser: https://survey.k12insight.com/r/QDVv1e
The survey is open until the end of the school year. Take the survey once for each child enrolled. If you prefer to only take it on, please reference the oldest child in your household. Thanks for your participation!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week! At some point this week, please take the time to thank a teacher who has been instrumental in your life or in the life of someone close to you!
