Choir

You are now a member of a Music Department that has a history of excellence. This excellence has been attained by singing quality choral literature in many periods and styles of music, learning how to read music, developing good vocal technique, and performing music as the composer intended to have the music performed. Every year the directors and students together strive to raise the bar of excellence even higher. You will be proud to be a part of this musical experience.

Theater

I oversee theater education and production at Lincoln High School and manage our main stage and little theater performance spaces.

In a typical season, I act as artistic director for one main stage production and for our state competition one act. I also serve as the technical director for a main stage production and an annual variety show.

Art

How often can you say that you teach what you love, that is the way I feel about being an Art Teacher. I am a lifelong artist who gets the chance to do just that each and every day.

I was born and raised in Wolsey South Dakota, but now live Sioux Falls. I earned my BA degree from USF and got my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from SDSU. I've taken part in many art shows through the years and have had the honor of receiving a Best of Show at the South Dakota State Fair on two separate occasions.

Oral Interp.

If you are a theater person with a competitive edge, then oral interp. is the place to be! Mrs. Windish, head coach of Oral Interp. at LHS, grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 2008. An avid theater kid, she knew she was destined to one day be a coach.

Oral Interp. is a fantastic and fun way to gain performance and communication skills, and develop several valuable skills introduced in core curriculum classes, such as writing, literary interpretation and analysis, and public speaking skills. In class, students will learn about each of the Oral Interp. categories, learn how to cut a piece for a performance, and develop several pieces for tournaments.
