The Lincoln boys were pushed to the wire by a talented Watertown group, needing a Jake Burchett penalty kick late in regulation to send the game into overtime.
From there, neither team was able to score a go-ahead goal in either overtime period. The championship would be decided by penalty kicks.
Four straight Arrow players stepped up and made their penalty kicks, but were answered every time by Miles Rolfing, Charlie Krueger, Holden Hilmoe, and Grant Oleson. When keeper Opland Sonnichsen blocked the Arrows 5th attempt, senior Marlo Gerling sent a blistering shot into the upper part of the net giving the Patriots the win.
Congratulations to Coach Nelson and all of our tremendous athletes. Go Pats!
